Prince Albert's favourite tree and first used by him in 1840. Until recently this was our most popular Christmas tree. It is also the tree used in Trafalgar Square - an annual gift from Norway to mark Britain's help during the Second World War. It is still a popular tree with its traditional appearance and smell. Popular too with growers as it tolerates a wide range of soils and climate and can be easily pruned to shape. Finches and Tits love to feed on the seed from their cones.
