This excellent timber tree is also popular as a Christmas tree and although not noted particularly as being needle fast it's moderate needle holding ability together with it's lush soft foliage and delightful orange/tangerine smell makes this a favourite tree with many customers. Its branches do not support decorations as effectively as other species but if decked with lights and a few baubles this tree can give a stunning display.A fast grower that needs to be sheared several times in a year in order to keep its shape means that it can only ever be sold as a tree with dense foliage.Best seed source for Christmas trees come from Darrington, Washington, USA.
